Real-world effects of Intuitive Eating:

1. Less Stress Around Food

You stop obsessing about what you “should” eat.

  • No more guilt after meals

  • No more mental math of calories/points/macros

  • No more loud "food noise"

  • Freedom to enjoy eating again

2. Fewer Binges and Overeating Episodes

When food isn’t restricted, the “urge to binge” decreases.

  • You stop swinging between "being good” and then overeating

  • You feel more in control around previously “triggering” foods

3. More Consistent Body Shape/Size Over Time

IE supports weight stability, not yo-yo dieting.

  • No repeated lose–regain cycles

  • Body naturally moves toward its comfortable range

4. Better Body Image

You learn to respect your body instead of fighting it.

  • Less negative self-talk

  • More confidence and comfort in your body

5. Increased Enjoyment of Food

Because all foods are allowed, you:

  • Actually taste and enjoy your meals

  • Feel satisfied after eating

  • Stop eating when you truly want to, not when “the diet says I can”

6. Improved Hunger and Fullness Awareness

You reconnect with the cues your body already has.

  • Trusting your body's cues instead of overthinking them

  • Eat when your body says you need to

  • Stop when you’re comfortably full and content

  • Avoid extremes of feeling ravenous or overly-stuffed

7. Reduced Emotional Eating

You learn emotional coping skills outside of food.

  • Turning to food for stress of comfort less often

  • Using rest, social connection, or stress reduction instead

8. Better Physical Energy

Without restriction:

  • More stable blood sugar

  • More concentration and focus

  • Fewer energy crashes

  • Better workout performance (because you fuel properly)

9. Healthier Relationship With Exercise

Movement becomes something you do to feel good—not punish yourself.

  • More consistency

  • Less burnout

  • More joyful activities

10. Long-Term Sustainability

Unlike diets, IE can be maintained forever.

  • No “falling off the wagon” or "get back on track on Monday"

  • Works with your lifestyle

  • Adaptable during holidays, travel, or changing seasons of life

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this program for?

This program is for adult women ready to break free from diet culture and build a peaceful, intuitive relationship with food, movement, and body.

If you want to stop yo-yo dieting, let go of food guilt, feel confident in your choices, and enjoy food without stress, this is for you. You’ll gain tools to nourish yourself through a weight-inclusive lens, all with the support of a like-minded community and a registered dietitian.

I know Intuitive Eating isn’t a diet, but what if I’m not yet ready to let go of wanting a smaller body?

It’s normalized to want a smaller body because the culture we live in has taught us to believe that that’s better. In this program, you’ll explore those feelings with self-compassion and peer support, while learning that health and nutrition isn’t defined by body size.

Intuitive Eating helps you reconnect with food through emotion, instinct, and rational thought, freeing you from restriction and guiding you toward a more peaceful, empowering relationship with your body.

How does it work?

This year-long group program includes monthly online coaching sessions and group cooking classes to keep IE front of mind, easy to practice, and part of your regular routine.

There are a total of 2-3 live sessions per month; cooking class is 1x/month and coaching calls are 1x/month PLUS 1x/quarter (an extra session in January, April, July, October).

As an added bonus, we have collaborated with specialists in body image, movement, and executive functioning to bring added expertise and resources beyond gentle nutrition.

Each session offers education, guided activities, and reflections to support your Intuitive Eating journey. Between sessions, you’ll receive recipes, affirmations, and non-diet resources, plus access to a moderated peer support chat where you can connect, share wins, and navigate challenges alongside the dietitians, a joyful movement expert, an executive function coach, a body image therapist, and fellow intuitive eaters.

Long-term healing requires long-term dedication, so members will commit to 1 year and then have the option to resume beyond the first year.

  • "Nourish Your Life is inspiring me to be part of the movement. It’s nice to be in a community of like-minded women feeling happy for one another.” -L

  • "It was helpful to start my Saturday with Casual Cooking Class and be able to get my food prep done in an hour, and at the same time go at my own pace with ingredients I had on hand [if I didn't get to the grocery store]." - B

What's in it for me?

One major thing missing in our culture is a true sense of community, and Nourish Your Life brings that community to its members who want to surround themselves with positive relationships towards food, body, and movement.

Our group sessions are based on a 2020 research study by Burnette & Mazzeo, giving us data-backed structure and outcomes.

Typical results included reduced disordered eating, body dissatisfaction, and negative self-beliefs, alongside increased body appreciation, intuitive eating, and overall life satisfaction.

While results vary, Intuitive Eating is truly life-changing, and we’re confident you’ll feel more empowered in your relationship with food and your body.

Here are additional studies that show Intuitive Eating's effectiveness on health and well-being (there are over 200 studies!).

Anything else I should expect?

We ask that all participants be under the routine care of a physician & therapist.

Working with a mental health provider is highly encouraged, especially if you feel it would support your journey.

Note: If you’re currently experiencing an eating disorder or are in early recovery from an eating disorder, please consult your treatment team before joining, as group discussions may include personal reflections.

Does that mean I get to talk to a registered dietitian privately?

Joining the membership gives you access to group support only; it’s not a personalized nutrition contract with Aterra Nutrition.

Want individualized guidance? We encourage you to book concierge nutrition counseling sessions anytime.
