As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Registered Dietitian, I focus on honoring health without obsession. That’s where gentle nutrition comes in, nourishing the body while embracing flexibility, satisfaction, and the full experience of food.

At its core, gentle nutrition is simple: Eat enough food. Choose what’s available. Nothing is off-limits (barring medical needs), and food satisfaction is part of the picture.

In our home, intuitive eating means asking:

  • What sounds good?

  • What needs to be used up?

  • What’s realistic to prepare today?

  • What will feel good in my body?

I consider taste, texture, time, and fullness, what I call “staying power.” Do I want cozy or refreshing? Spicy or sweet? Quick or hearty?

Real meals, real satisfaction

This approach doesn’t require fancy recipes. Some favorites from my kitchen include:

  • Pesto butter salmon with jasmine rice and kale chips, simple, quick, and satisfying.

  • CSA-inspired snack plates with cheese, crackers, nectarines, almonds, and dark chocolate.

  • Yogurt bowls with granola and fruit in my favorite handmade pottery, because even flatware can add to satisfaction.

None of this is about perfection. It's about nourishment, trust, and checking in with what truly fuels me, physically and emotionally.

Gentle nutrition has helped me let go of food fear and embrace a more grounded relationship with eating. I’ve learned that nourishment is one of the most essential and underrated forms of self-care. And for that, I’m truly grateful.
