If you’ve been following along with Aterra Nutrition’s social media this year, you may have seen my monthly “Cristina’s self-care” lists. They started as a personal accountability practice, gentle reminders to tend to myself with small but meaningful habits. I hoped that they could offer you a few easy, accessible ideas of what self-care might look like in real life.
Because here’s the truth: self-care doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive (though if you love a good massage or spa day and it’s within reach, treat yourself!). At its core, self-care is simply the act of caring for yourself in ways that feel nourishing and sustainable.
For me, intuitive eating has been one of the biggest catalysts in redefining what self-care means. It’s helped me tune in more clearly to what my body truly needs, starting with nourishment. Whether I set clear intentions or simply move through my day with presence, my first self-care check-in is always: Have I nourished my body today?
What’s currently grounding me this autumn
Nourishment
Simple movement
Personal enrichment and fulfillment
Professional milestones
Intentional rest
How have you been tending to your self-care?
In what ways have you noticed growth?
How do you plan to continue showing up for yourself?

If you're not sure where to start, maybe just choose one thing, something small that feels doable, and go from there.
